The Gentle Giant Initiative for Ecosystems

In a heartfelt gesture rooted in love and remembrance, Ms. Pallavi Salvi became a patron of the Gentle Giant Initiative, an ecological effort under The CHINI Trust’s vision to “Create and Replicate Ecosystems of Change.” Through this initiative, bamboo groves are nurtured as living ecosystems that restore balance, support biodiversity, and encourage long term care for the environment.
To honour her late husband, a man remembered for his towering presence, quiet strength, and gentle spirit, Ms. Salvi sponsored a grove of bamboo trees at Green Verge. By a touching twist of nature, the bamboo under her care has grown to become among the tallest on the land, standing as a quiet reflection of the life and legacy he embodied.

Her support has continued beyond the planting itself. Each year, Ms. Salvi contributes towards the maintenance and nurturing of the grove, ensuring that these gentle giants continue to thrive and grow. Through this enduring commitment, a deeply personal memory has become part of a larger living ecosystem.

Today, the grove stands quietly within Green Verge, offering shade, shelter, and renewal. In the rustle of bamboo leaves and the steady growth of each stem lives a story of remembrance, resilience, and care for the natural world.
If you would like to support, dedicate, or create a living ecological legacy of your own, we would love to hear from you.
